    Facts about the mountain region

    • CA has several mountain ranges: Sierra Nevada, Cascade Range, Coastal Range
    • Sierra Nevada Mountain Range: 400 miles long and 70 miles wide
    • Tallest peak in CA- Mt. Whitney, 14,494 ft elevation
    • The Giant Sequoias in Sequoia National park are the largest living things on Earth.
    • Cascade Range is made up of volcanic mountains.
    • Mountains are a source of water for the state. Melted snow and water come down in tributaries (small streams) and fill the rivers.
    • Tourists visit the mountains for skiing, camping, hiking
    • Resources are water, timber, recreation areas, minerals

    Students can access a hyperlink about Dolores Huerta to finish their CA journal for the week of 9/16 - 9/20.

    They should also be finishing their Book Snap in the slides inside Google Classroom.

     
    General information:  Students should share the monthly homework sheet at the beginning of each month and write in their planners daily.  Please check both and initial the bottom of the planner after students have completed the nightly homework.
