• What is the meaning behind the Tice Creek Logo?

    The staff at Tice Creek was challenged with the task of identifying a school mascot, designing a logo, and selecting school colors.  As a team we agreed that our mascot should be an animal, to parallel the mascots of the other schools in the district.  We decided to choose a mascot indigenous to the area, with qualities that represent our new school community.

  • THE MASCOT 

    We selected a mascot that:

    1.     is quick

    2.     works together

    3.     has keen vision

    4.     is resourceful

    5.     has high levels of communication

    6.     travels in family groups

    7.     represents adaptability and playfulness

    For all these reasons we selected the COYOTE.

  • THE LOGO 

    The logo has great meaning to our school.

    The two sizes of coyotes represent multiple ages served at Tice Creek, working collaboratively as they howl at the moon.

    The color choice of green, brown, and white reflects nature and the natural colors of the coyotes’ environment.

    The moon represents the PBL Gold Standard and cycle of inquiry.

    The outer circle represents the larger community supporting our school community.

    When put together, this logo represents the collaborative nature of our school environment.
