• One School, Two Books Reading Club Description

    Dear Tice Creek Community,
I am thrilled to announce Tice Creek’s first whole school book club, One School, Two Books , which will kick off upon return from Spring Break. Students in Kindergarten through grade four will read The Hundred Dresses by Eleanor Estes, while students in grades five through eight will read Counting by 7s by Holly Goldberg Sloan.

Students in Kindergarten through grade four will read the book in class. Grades 5 through 8 will read segments and encourage students to participate outside of class. We invite parents and families to join in as well by reading along with your child at home.
You will find a reading calendar below mapping out recommended chapters per day. The calendar includes links to audio versions on the books, for those who wish to listen along.

If you prefer, you may also obtain your own copy of the book for at home use. In school, our librarian, Ms. Shea, will be facilitating discussion groups for students during lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays. In addition, your children will have the opportunity to participate in random quizzes and activities throughout the program.
One School, Two Books offers an opportunity to explore and discuss themes of inclusiveness, empathy, and kindness. This is a great way for our community to continue to celebrate the Season of Kindness. I hope you chose to join the fun!

    Have a great Spring Break!
