• A bit about Mr. King

    Hello families and students. I have devoted most of my adult life to teaching. Most of those years have been at the elementary school level. I have the best job in the world. I am honored to be teaching in the Walnut Creek School District. It is exciting and very rewarding. Learning and having fun are not mutually exclusive. In fact, I've found that the more fun we have, the more we learn. One of my main goals is to help students see situations, problems, and questions from various vantage points. The more we examine possible solutions, the stronger our critical thinking skills become. As these skills grow, learning becomes more efficient, and more enjoyable.

    The students at Murwood are the greatest bunch of kids I have ever known. Working with kids is so wonderful. It is always fast paced, interesting, challenging, and fun, but never boring. Every day, I wake up excited and look forward to going to work. I can't imagine not being a teacher!
