• a little about me

Before becoming a teacher, I was a department manager at a department store, and then worked at a Walnut Creek law firm. Although I enjoyed these jobs, my favorite tasks included training new employees, working with people, and using technology. I was often called upon to help teach various procedures and programs to other employees, and always enjoyed the teaching part of my job. Since I was about 5 years old, I had always wanted to be an elementary school teacher - so I finally decided to go back to college and realize that dream!

I graduated from CSU East Bay and did my teaching credential program at CSU East Bay's Concord campus. In fact, I did part of my student teaching here at Murwood and loved the school. As you can imagine, I was very happy to join the Murwood staff in 2005. teacher's desk

Here at Murwood, I've taught fifth grade, fourth grade, and now second grade. I still love using technology, and have enjoyed finding more ways to use it in the classroom! I am excited to be a ClassDojo Mentor and a Seesaw Ambassador, helping other teachers learn about and use these programs.

When I'm not doing "teacher stuff", I am usually spending time with my husband, Dan, and our son, Tanner (who is a student here at Murwood).
