    Walnut Creek School District, Food Service Department is a part of the National School Lunch Program, which follows the USDA Food-Based Menu Planning guidelines.  These guidelines increases the availability of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fat-free and low-fat fluid milk in school meals; reduces the levels of sodium, saturated fat and trans fat in meals; and meet the nutrition needs of school children within their calorie requirements. Each weeks menu is analyzed to ensure we are meeting the USDA guidelines.
