• Mrs. Renee Weyand

I was born to be an educator.  For me, teaching isn't just a career, but a way of life.  I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was in third grade.  I moved to a new school and my teacher, Mrs. Ruth Baldwin, was my inspiration.  She took me under her wing, and made sure I received just what I needed.  I strive to do the same for my students.

I've worked with children since I was in middle school.  I helped with sports teams, scouts, and camp.  I graduated summa cum laude in 1993 from Cal State Hayward (the "teacher's" school) with a BA in Liberal Studies and a minor in math.  In 1994 I received my multiple subject teaching credential with a  supplementary authorization in math.

In the fall of 1994 I became a teacher's aide at Parkmead and I also taught preschool in Orinda.  In the fall of 1995 I started my teaching career at Parkmead as a K/1 teacher and have been teaching first grade ever since.  I enjoy watching the children make leaps and bounds both socially and academically.  It is truly an amazing year!
