Homework for 4th and 5th Grade Band Students 

• Warm up by blowing on the mouthpiece only
  
  
• Practice carefully putting your instrument together
  
  
• Sit or stand using good posture and hand position
  
  
• Practice the notes and music learned in band. Say the note and rhythm names of the music you practice.
  
  
• Practice 15 to 20 minutes (or longer if you can!) at least 5 times per week
  
  
• Carefully take your instrument apart and swab it out (flute, clarinet, alto saxophone). Trumpets and trombones, empty your water valve onto your cloth and wipe off fingerprints.

4th graders will record their assignments and daily practice time in the Practice Logs handed out every two weeks in class.  

 

5th graders will record their assignments and daily practice time on the Practice Logs passed out every two weeks during Band.
