    Walk Through California
    Friday, October 11th!

We are pleased to announce that on Friday, October 11th our classes will be attending a Walk Through California Presentation. Parents are invited to come join us as an audience member for the Walk Through presentation.  The program lasts 2½ hours and provides a wonderful opportunity to watch students work together as a class.  Due to the length and educational nature of the program, please find alternate care for any younger children if you decide to join us.

Mrs. Hesse's class will attend from 8:20-10:50
Mrs. Wikander's class will attend from 11:50-2:20

Students have been given an Expert Word Card and it is an important part of the presentation. Please review the information and help your student memorize the card to be performed the day of the program. He or she should know the answer to the question located on the card and be able to speak clearly and with good volume. This is not a play, but an interactive history lesson in which students will earn points for their team based on memorization, answering questions, and overall involvement.

A fun part of Walk Through California involves dressing up in a costume. We encourage you not to spend any money. Please use what you have around the house to create a costume. Please see the page attached below for costume ideas.

Feel free to bring a camera to take still pictures, but video cameras are not permitted. This dynamic, interactive program enhances the social studies curriculum through creativity and enthusiasm. This is an experience your child will remember for years to come! Please email us if you plan to attend, so we can have a chair ready for you.

We would like to express our thanks to the Murwood PTA for providing the funding for this fantastic program! And thanks to all of you who are part of the PTA for your donations!
