History 8

The eighth grade social science curriculum focuses on the story of America beginning with the early European explorers up through the Civil War. Our department uses a thematic approach to teaching social science. The following themes will be used this year: Westward Expansion, The American Belief System/Democracy, Leadership and the Presidency, Economics, Conflict, and Diversity and Prejudice. Additionally, several of these units of study will include a culminating activity such as  Civil War day.
