• Grading – Core 7 - Palmquist

Grades are posted in class every two - three weeks. Corrected work is also returned to students on those same days. Students should develop the habit of checking posted grades and following up on any questions they might have. Students and parents/guardians can request a printed or emailed copy of your child’s current grades.

If you are viewing grades through the school portal to grade sheets, be aware that absent and late work may appear missing until the assignments are turned in.

Here are a few tips about reading the grade page:

    1. On the grade sheet, the grade is broken down into different categories.
    2. Every so often I may write some notes next to a grade - this helps both me and your student remember information about particular assignments.
    3. I provide partial credit for late work, in the notes section you will see “Late and the date that the assignment was turned in.
    4. If an assignment is missing, the grade column will show: “MI.”

    Grading codes you may see:

    ·         MI = missing assignment (calculated as an F)

    ·         LATE = means what is says...assignment was turned in late.

    ·         NA or EX = not applicable - a student is excused from the assignment (not counted for or against them – as if it doesn’t exist)

If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email.
