    Classwork 2/18  Amplify: Begin Chapter 2 Earth Moon and Sun Lesson 2.2 Gathering evidence About Moon Phases  Complete Warm Up, Gathering Evidence from a Model, and Gathering Evidence from the Text.

    Test Monday 2/24 Includes Reading The Dark Side of the Moon, The Solar System is Huge and Scale in the Solar System, and Gravity in the Solar System.  Study the Handout of the Moon Phases from a Top View and an Earth View.

    In Amplify  Earth, Moon and Sun we will cover information through Chapter 2 Lesson 2.5.

    Classwork 2/19  Amplify Chapter 2  Finish 2.2 'Homework'  Draw Moon phases into Science Journal and label the Sun and Earth.    Begin 2.3 Modeling Moon phases. 

    Homework: Due 2/20 Add article The Solar System is Huge to S.J. taped and annotated .  Notes from The Solar System is Huge are added in Science Journal.

    Classwork 2/20  Amplify Chapter 2 section 2.3 #4 Modeling Tool submit.  Section 2.4  #4 Modeling Tool Submit and answer questions.  #5 Homework begin in class.  Annotate on line. 

    Homework: Due 2/21 Finish Chpater 2 section 2.4  #5 Homework if not completed in class.

    Classwork 2/21 Today we reviewed the Earth view and Top view using a handout and highlighting the phases of the moon from both perspectives.  Students should add this to their Science Journal and study it for the Quiz on Monday.  Knowing the relationship between the phase and where the moon is in relationship to the sun.

    Classswork 2/27  Today in class we used academic vocabluary to describe what determines a moon's phases and what a top view of the moon looks like in various circumstances including an eclipse.

    Homework Due 2/28: Finish chapter 2 in Amplify section 2.5  'Homework' and submit on line. There is a written component.

    Classwork 2/28 Amplify go to the Simulation Earth, Moon and Sun and find a date, time for a Lunar eclipse.  Draw and write a written explaination for a Lunar eclipse Use the 3 D system view and draw the 3 D view, the Top view and the View from Earth.  Label 

    In Amplify turn in the Modeling Tool from the homework section in Chapter 3  Section 3.1  'Homework' but not the reading about seasons.

    Classwork:  3/2 In Amplify Finish  Chapter 3 section 3.1 #4 Homework. Annotate the article on line and take notes in your Science Journal.  Title this set of notes The Reason For Seasons.

    Next go to Chapter 3 in Amplify section 3.3  and complete #2 Gathering Evidence from the Sim. and #3 Gathering Evidence from the Reading. This has to do with Lunar Eclipses.

    TEST ON THURSDAY  Covering the material from the last test on moon phases, and new material on Reason For Seasons and Lunar Eclipse.

    Classwork 3/3  Amplify Chapter 3 section 3.3 Complete #2, #3, #4 turn in to Amplify on line. We have had two days of in class work to complete these assignments. 

    Science Journal: Additionally we used a flash light as a Model and wrote about how a flashlight's beam of light is able to show the different intensity of light collecting more information on Reason For Seasons.

    Classwork 3/6 :Science Journal continue notes for Reasons for Seasons.  Notes on Equinox and  Solstice from TCI Text pages 115 - 123.  Mainly, take notes from the captions and draw illustrations with labels and captions to clarify understanding.

    Classwork 3/9 : Science Journal continue and finish notes for pages 115- 123 in TCI Text. Reason for Seasons  Begin notes in Science Journal for Solar Eclipes in TCI page 140-142.  No Homework.

    Classwork 3/10  Finish notes for Solar Eclipse from TCI pages 137 - 140  include illustrations include captions and label.  Highlight, indent. 

    Classwork 3/11 Work on Phet Simulation Gravity and Orbits. Due at end of the period.

    Classwork 3/12  Finish Phet Simulation.  Finish Post Lab worksheet for the Phet lab Gravity and Orbits handed out in class.  Due at end of the period.
