When you are self-assigning work for reading at home (or in class) consider these ideas in the link above.  Your own thinking and reflecting is the important work.  

Whatever you need to do to become a better reader is key! 

• Do you need to work on staying in one place for the whole time at home (stamina)? 
• Do you need to work on increasing volume?  How will you accomplish these things?
• Do you want to ratchet things up a level & add in character traits/less likeable characteristics? 
• Want to think about theme?  Stop and jot x # of times? 
• The sky is the limit on what you think you need to do to become a better reader!
