After growing up in the San Gabriel Valley of Southern California, I attended Humboldt State University, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Liberal Studies and received an elementary teaching credential the year after.  I taught first grade for two years in Crescent City before relocating to the Bay Area. A teacher at Walnut Heights since 1989, I taught third grade for many years,  a 2/3 combination class for two years, fifth grade for 4 years, and  the 4/5 combination class for the 2019-2020 school year. When not teaching, I love to be outdoors, hiking, camping, and bike riding.
