Monica Schoonmaker is one of the kindergarten teachers at Buena Vista Elementary School. She previously taught a fourth/fifth combination class, fifth grade and first grade. Ms. Schoonmaker received her BA in both Early Childhood and Elementary Education from the University of Toledo.  She attended UC-Berkeley extension to meet the requirements to clear her California credential.  Ms. Schoonmaker earned her Master's of Art degree in Teaching Leadership at St. Mary's College. She is also a Reading Recovery teacher.
