• This is my ninth year at Buena Vista, and I am thrilled to be working at such an amazing school. I was born and raised in Walnut Creek, and I am a product of our wonderful school district, having attended Indian Valley and WCI. I graduated from Las Lomas High School where I played water polo and was the captain of the swim team. From there I attended UC Riverside and UC Santa Barbara and graduated from UCSB in 2008 with a BA in Global Studies- Go Gauchos!

In the winter of 2008 I enrolled in the credential program at Saint Mary's College. By August 2010, I was hired at Buena Vista, and have had a wonderful time since. Over the past few years, I have been fortunate enough to have had some valuable professional development that has contributed to my growth as a teacher. I attended the Silicon Valley Math Initiative (SVMI) training in the summer of 2012, the Computer Using Educators (CUE) conference in 2012 and 2013, the Chabot Space and Science Summer Energy and Climate Institute during the summers of 2012 and 2013, and ASCD's annual conference in 2014. This last summer, I was extremely fortunate to attend the Writing Summer Institute at Teachers College at Columbia University in New York for a week and this summer received this training in Reader's Workshop.

I am so excited to see what this year has to hold, and am positive it will be a great one for the students, families, and myself!
