• Classroom Money System
    • We use play money to create consequences for both positive and negative behavior.
    • Students are given ways to earn and lose money.
    • Students may use the money they earn to purchase items and activities.
    • They are responsible for keeping their money in a plastic wallet in their desks.

Ways for students to earn money
    • hand in homework
    • return forms on time
    • return Wednesday envelope the next day
    • answer a question correctly
    • pick up trash on the playground
    • do something positive, smart, helpful, kind, generous, etc.
    • running laps
Ways to lose money or receive a blue sheet
    • forget your homework at home
    • don't do your homework
    • don't return Wednesday communication folder
    • don't return forms on time
    • talk out, act up, disrupt the classroom

What students can buy with their money:
    • Once a month we have a classroom sale where students can bring in anything from home to sell to classmates.
    • At the end of the year, students use their money to buy raffle tickets for prizes such as ice cream date with Ms. Hitzelberger, visit her home for lunch and games, books, games, buddies, toys, etc.

    Whole Class Rewards

When the class, as a whole, or an individual student displays award-worthy positive productive behavior, the class receives an X on a chart.  When they earn 100 X's, we celebrate with an activity the class votes for.
